What’s Hood: Pascoe Vale Edition
What’s Hood, Melbourne! Welcome to Pascoe Vale! I’m Pat and I’ll be taking you around some of my fave spots in my neck of the woods.
I’ve lived around the Pascoe Vale/Pascoe Vale South/Glenroy/North Coburg area for over 13 years now (since arriving in Australia!) and I’ve been lucky that all these suburbs are so close to each other I can practically walk everywhere and stay within 5km!
Throughout ISO, I’ve definitely explored my fair share of my area and have found new walking trails I never even knew existed (and I drove past it everyday for over 10 years!).
My usual route consists of walking around the Glenroy Golf Club and around West Street. It’s flat, it’s easy and you can clock in 4kms in half an hour.
I also enjoy walking around my neighbourhood, keeping my normal ‘work’ routine by walking to the train station which is actually only 400metres by foot (I used to drive to the station.. why?!) and walking along Devon Road & Rayner Reserve!
Right behind Pascoe Vale Girls and along Northumberland Road is this cool cluster of walking tracks that I didn’t know existed up until ‘rona hit! For an easy 4km walk (as long as you don’t go up the steep Northumberland uphill…) check out:
Best Places for Coffee (and brunch!):
- Jack & Daisy
**Jack & Daisy is my ultimate brunch spot in Melbourne. From their friendly staff, delicious meals, top-notch coffee to their playlist?! It’s everything Melbourne (and Pat!) in one place!
- George Jones Eatery
- Zaatar on West
Living in the ‘burbs, it’s hard to get good food delivered but if you’re in the area, I definitely recommend downloading Menulog as their delivery routes stretch as far as Moonee Ponds or even Ascot Vale sometimes and you know there’s some good feeds there! Some of my top suggestions are:
Other hidden gems:
So that’s it from my hood! If you’re from the area, do let me know if there are any other hidden gems I should check out!
I’m off to walk all the trails with my doggos now…
